Suzanne Mouton-Odum, PhD

Dr. Mouton-Odum is the Director of Psychology Houston, PC, The Center for Cognitive Behavioral Treatment. She is a licensed psychologist who has practiced psychology in the Houston are since 1995. She received her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the University of Texas at Austin, Master of Arts in School Psychology from Trinity University in San Antonio, and Doctor of Philosophy in Counseling Psychology from the University of Houston. She completed her doctoral residency at the University of Texas Medical School, Houston. Dr. Mouton-Odum is a Clinical Assistant Professor at Baylor College of Medicine and President of PsycTech, Ltd., Technology for Psychology.

Dr. Mouton-Odum has practiced psychology for over 20 years in the Houston area and has extensive experience conducting cognitive behavioral treatment for children, adolescents, and adults, psychological assessment, and evidence-based psychological treatments. Dr. Mouton-Odum is a member of the Scientific Advisory Board of the Foundation for Body Focused Repetitive Behaviors, formerly the Trichotillomania Learning Center, and past president of both the Texas Psychological Foundation and the Houston Psychological Association. She has published numerous scientific journal articles, presents both internationally and at national conferences, and is coauthor of three books for the general public: A Parent Guide to Hair Pulling Disorder, Out of the Rabbit Hole: A Road Map to Freedom from OCD, and Psychological Interventions for Children with Sensory Dysregulation.
Dr. Mouton-Odum has been trained my the Center for Mindful Self-Compassion as a self-compassion teacher.

La Dra. Mouton-Odum es Directora de Psychology Houston, PC un Centro de Tratamiento Cognitivo Conductual. Es psicóloga en el área de Houston desde 1995. Obtuvo el grado de Arte en Psicología por parte de la Universidad de Texas en Austin, Maestría en Arte por la Escuela de Psicología de la Universidad Trinidad en San Antonio y un Doctorado en Filosofía y Orientación Psicológica en la Universidad de Houston. Terminó sus residencias doctorales en la Escuela de Medicina de la Universidad de Texas. La Dra. Mouton-Odum es Profesora Asistente Clínica en Baylor College of Medicine y Presidenta de PsycTech, Ltd., Tecnología para la Psicología.  

La Dra. Mouton-Odum ha dado consultas de psicología durante más de 20 años en el área de Houston y tiene vasta experiencia en el tratamiento cognitivo conductual para niños, adolescentes y adultos; evaluación psicológica y tratamientos basados en la evidencia.  La Dra. Mouton-Odum forma parte de la Junta del Consejo Científico de la Fundación TLC para los Comportamientos Repetitivos Centrados en el Cuerpo (The TLC Foundation for BFRBs), antes conocida como Trichotillomania Learning Center; fue presidenta de la Fundación en Psicología de Texas y la Asociación Psicológica de Houston. Ha publicado varios artículos en revistas científicas. Es conferencista en eventos nacionales e internacionales y es coautora de tres libros dirigidos al público en general:   “A Parent Guide to Hair Pulling Disorder” (Una Guía para Padres de Familia sobre el Trastorno de Arrancarse el Pelo), “Out of the Rabbit Hole: A Road Map to Freedom from OCD” (Un mapa para Liberarte del TOC), y “Psychological Interventions for Children with Sensory Dysregulation” (Intervenciones Psicológicas para Niños con Desregulación Sensorial).

La Dra. Mouton-Odum está entrenada en el Center for Mindful Self-Compassion como Instructora en Autocompasión.
