Adira led a regular high school life playing varsity sports, excelling in the classroom, and enjoying time with friends and family. However, following her junior year of high school she was diagnosed with OCD. After receiving intensive local treatment in St. Louis, she decided to attend the OCD Institute's residential treatment program at McLean Hospital in Fall 2008 and again in Summer 2009, becoming much less severely impacted by her disorder. Though there are still ups and downs, the good days much outweigh the bad now. Through her treatment, she has come to accept her disorder as one of the many pieces that make up who she is as a person. Adira graduated from Washington University in St. Louis in 2012 and now lives and works in San Francisco, California. Adira has been attending the IOCDF Annual Conferences since 2009 and spoken on panels since 2012.
